Adult Acne? Try a DIY Oat and Honey Skin Treatment

DIY Oat and Honey Skin Treatment

Many women find themselves dealing with adult acne. Acne can visit you once a month right along with your menstrual cycle or once every few years. There are no rules when it comes to these annoying and beauty-busting red bumps, but you can fight acne at home with a yummy DIY skin treatment made of honey and oats.

Ingredients

For this budget-friendly beauty treatment, most women have everything they need right in their kitchen: oats and honey. You will need ½ cup of plain cooked and cooled oatmeal and ¼ cup of honey. What are the benefits of honey? It is an all-natural moisturizer.

Mixing It Up

To make this adult acne skin treatment, which is also great for teenage girls who want to pamper themselves, mix the cooked oatmeal and honey together with a strong spoon. This will be sticky, and it can get hard to mix, so plastic disposable silverware is not recommended. When you have a thick sticky paste, you are ready to put it on.

Please note that you must use the mixture as soon as you make it because, if you let it sit, it will harden into an unusable ball.

Applying the Treatment

Pull your hair back and out of the way. Wash your face and spread the mixture generously onto your face, making sure to avoid contact near and around your eyes. Sit in a comfy chair, prop your feet up, and read your favorite book or a magazine while this treatment works its magic. After 20 minutes, wash it off, and enjoy your cleaner, fresher skin. Take that, adult acne!

Sensitive Skin?

Oatmeal and honey are gentle enough for sensitive skin, but you can test a bit of this mixture on the inside of your arm first if you are afraid of a reaction.

Another Adult Acne Tip

Did you wake up with a zit but don’t have time to whip up this treatment? Dab a little honey on it! Leave the honey in place on your blemish for five minutes, wash it off, and you’re good to go! You can also dab honey on your old acne scars to make them less noticeable. Honey really does your skin good!
